Aftercare

Four weeks of looking after it.

A tattoo is a small wound for the first month. Treat it gently and it heals sharp. This is the same sheet we hand you on the day.

2

Days two to fourteen

Thin layers, clean hands

Wash twice a day and let it air dry.

Apply a very thin layer of unscented balm. Shiny means too much.

It will flake and itch. Don’t pick or scratch.

3

Weeks two to four

Settling in

The top layer looks healed, but underneath it isn’t yet.

Moisturise once a day and keep it out of strong sun.

Send us a photo at four weeks if anything looks patchy.

No swimming

Pools, the sea and baths for two weeks.

No sun and sunbeds

Cover it for four weeks, then SPF 50 for life.

No picking

Let the flakes fall off on their own.

No tight clothes

Loose layers over the tattoo for the first week.

FAQ

Questions we get every week.

Ask us something else →

How much will my tattoo cost?

The shop minimum is £80. Custom work is £120 to £130 an hour depending on the artist, and day sittings are £800. You get a firm quote at the consultation.

Do I need a deposit?

For custom work, yes: £60, or £150 for a day sitting. It comes off the final price. Flash days and Saturday walk-ins don’t need one.

What ID do you accept?

A passport, a photo driving licence or a proof-of-age card with a hologram. We check it at every appointment, whatever your age looks like.

Does it hurt?

A bit. Ribs, feet and spine more than outer arms and thighs. Most people say it was easier than they expected.

Can I bring someone with me?

One person can sit with you if there’s room. No children in the studio, please.

What if I’m ill or pregnant?

We won’t tattoo you while you’re unwell or pregnant. Let us know and your deposit moves to a new date. Tell us about blood thinners or skin conditions at the consultation.

Do you do cover-ups?

Often. Bring the old piece to a consultation and we’ll tell you honestly what can go over it and how big it needs to be.

Are touch-ups free?

Yes, within three months, as long as you followed the aftercare. After that we charge the shop minimum.
